Christian Walker Starting Against Phillies
2 years agoArizona Diamondbacks first baseman Christian Walker (head) is back at first base and is hitting cleanup on Friday against the Philadelphia Phillies and right-hander Kyle Gibson. Walker left the game on Thursday after getting hit in the head by a pitch against the Cincinnati Reds, but he apparently cleared the league's concussion protocols and is ready to play a day later. The 31-year-old slugger has 15 home runs on the season and has driven in 28 in 57 games for the D-backs, but he's also hitting just .200 and is slashing .148/.281/.407 with two home runs, three RBI, two runs scored and 10 strikeouts in 32 plate appearances over eight games so far in the month of June.
