Christian Yelich Close To Massive Contract Extension
5 years agoStar outfielder Christian Yelich is close to an agreement with the Milwaukee Brewers, major-league sources told The Athletic Tuesday. The new contract is expected to be worth more than $200 million. The team is expected to announce the new deal Friday at the team's spring training facility in Maryvale, AZ. Yelich finished second in NL MVP voting last season, with a .329 batting average, 44 home runs, 100 runs scored, 97 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 130 games. He's established himself as one of the best players in the entire league, and the Brewers are rewarding him accordingly. He is worthy of a top-3 selection in just about every format.
