7 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (oblique) will remain out of the lineup on Thursday against the Chicago Cubs, as expected. Yelich exited the game Wednesday in the seventh inning and did not return, and Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced that Yelich is dealing with some oblique stiffness. Because of the potential severity of oblique injuries, the smartest move is to give him a couple days of rest while the official timeline is released for his return. He was most likely going to rest on this day as lefty Jon Lester takes the mound for the Cubs. Consider Yelich day-to-day and keep an eye out for Friday's news. Outfielders Domingo Santana and Ryan Braun will benefit as long as Yelich sits out.--Caden Inaba
