Christian Yelich Remains Sidelined Thursday
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich (back) remains out of the starting lineup on Thursday against the San Francisco Giants. Yelich was a late scratch for Tuesday's starting lineup due to mid-back tightness, and he hasn't played since, although the Brewers don't believe it's as serious as the back issues that plagued him last year. With the All-Star break coming next week, it's possible Milwaukee plays it safe and holds the 30-year-old out until the start of the second half of the season. Andrew McCutchen is in left field and is batting leadoff, while catcher Pedro Severino serves as the designated hitter and bats eighth against Giants left-hander Carlos Rodon on Thursday. McCutchen is the much more attractive DFS play. He's hitting only .218 (17-for-78) with three homers and 10 RBI against lefties this year, but he's also gone 15-for-47 (.319) with two long balls and five RBI in 11 games over the last two weeks.
