2 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Clay Holmes (back) is on track to return from the injured list on August 29 against the Los Angeles Angels. He reportedly felt good after throwing bullpen sessions earlier in the week. The 29-year-old right-hander has 17 saves, a 2.39 ERA, and 51 strikeouts in 49 innings for the Yankees this year but struggled over his recent five appearances. He posted a 15.75 ERA and a 2.50 WHIP across four innings during that five-game stretch. Holmes is expected to retake the closer role for the Yankees once activated and should continue to be rostered in all league formats.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
