Clay Holmes Traded To The Yankees
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Clay Holmes was traded to the New York Yankees on Monday, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. To complete the deal, the Yankees sent infielders Diego Castillo and Hoy Jun Park to Pittsburgh. Holmes has been a decent option in SV/HLD formats this season, as he has seven holds while going 3-2 with a 3.93 ERA, 1.429 WHIP and 23.3 percent strikeout rate across 42 innings of work. He should take up a similar role in the Yankees bullpen, where he could end up having slightly better value in SV/HLD formats by pitching for a better team in New York. Outside of SV/HLD formats, Holmes can be safely ignored.
