Clayton Kershaw Agrees To Return To Dodgers
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers are in agreement with left-hander Clayton Kershaw on a one-year deal on Friday, pending a physical, according to sources. The deal was later announced to be worth $17 million. It was pretty much either return to the only team he's called home or sign with his hometown Texas Rangers in free agency. The 33-year-old southpaw chose LA and will return in 2022. Kershaw dealt with a forearm injury late last season and missed the playoffs, eventually finishing 10-8 with a 3.55 ERA and 1.02 WHIP while striking out 144 and walking 21 in 121 2/3 innings over 22 starts. The future Hall of Famer has still been good when healthy, but after a couple injury plagued seasons, Kershaw is quickly becoming an injury risk as more of a back-end fantasy starter on draft day.
