6 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers and starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw agreed to a three-year, $93 million extension on Friday that includes incentives but no opt-outs. Despite showing diminished velocity and dealing with injuries again in 2018, Kershaw remained effective and one of the best pitchers in baseball. The left-handed ace went 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 155 strikeouts in 161 1/3 innings over 26 starts. He remained a bit unreliable in the postseason, though, and he'll carry more risk than usual as an early-round fantasy ace. 2018 was his first season since 2013 in which he didn't strike out at least 10.0 hitters per nine innings, and he'll turn 31 next March.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
