Clayton Kershaw Will Be Ready For First Start
3 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw (forearm) will be ready for his first start in the rotation, wherever that may be. Kershaw dealt with a left forearm injury that kept him from pitching in the postseason last October, but barring any setbacks this spring, he should be ready for the regular season. The 33-year-old future Hall of Famer returned to LA on a one-year, $17 million deal this offseason. Kershaw has still been solid when on the mound for the Dodgers, but fantasy managers need to factor in all of his injuries in recent seasons when considering him as more of a back-end starter on draft day. In 2021, he had a 3.55 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 144 K's and 21 walks in 121 1/3 innings.
