Clayton Kershaw Will Throw Simulated Gamed On Saturday
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw (biceps) is expected to throw 60 pitches in a simulated game on Saturday. Kershaw has been out since May 1 so this is good news for Dodgers fans and fantasy owners. The simulated game will be Kershaw's first time throwing to live hitters since his placement on the disabled list and if all goes well, he could bypass a rehab start and return the starting rotation immediately. Kershaw has not been himself of late as his current 2.86 ERA and 1.14 WHIP are uncharacteristic of the man most regard as the best pitcher in baseball. It should be noted that Kershaw's velocity has been dropping since 2016 and whether that is due to age or injury is yet to be determined. Hopefully, he can regain his form after returning and justify the first round selection plenty of fantasy owner spent on him.
