Clayton Richard Keeps Rolling In Miami
7 years agoSan Diego Padres starter Clayton Richard was brilliant in Sunday's victory against the Miami Marlins, yielding one earned run in seven innings. Richard flirted with a no-hitter until allowing two consecutive two-out singles in the seventh to score the lone run. He also walked three and fanned five in the contest. Sunday marked Richard's sixth quality start in his last seven outings, he now holds a 4.40 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 7.3 K/9. Richard's peripheral metrics suggest he's pitching as well as his headline numbers and he's forced himself into the streamer conversation. Owners should be keen to starting him against weaker opponents or at home where he holds a 3.86 ERA.
