Cody Ceci, Alexander Kerfoot Ink Extensions in Toronto
5 years agoThe Toronto Maple Leafs signed defenseman Cody Ceci to a one-year contract extension on Thursday with an average annual value of $4.5 million. He was acquired from the Ottawa Senators earlier this week for Nikita Zaitsev. The Leafs also locked up center Alexander Kerfoot to a four-year contract with an AAV of $3.5 million. That's a big deal, as he is projected to be the third-line center after coming over from the Colorado Avalanche, and he was slated to be a free agent after the end of the 2019-20 campaign. Now, the deal really looks like a winner which sent Nazem Kadri to the Colorado Avalanche. Kerfoot posted 15 goals and 42 points in 78 regular-season games in 2018-19.
