4 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Cody Poteet was called back up on Tuesday and will start the series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies. Poteet was impressive in his major league debut, pitching five innings while allowing two runs on four hits with six strikeouts and no walks. Poteet was optioned when the Marlins needed some bullpen reinforcements earlier in the week, but was always expected to take this turn in the rotation. With Lewis Brinson (finger) placed on the injured list, Poteet was able to rejoin the team without spending the required days in the minors after being optioned. He makes for an interesting streaming option if he can repeat his success from his first start.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
