Cole Hamels Has Another Strong Start With Chicago
6 years agoCubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels was incredible Sunday night. He helped pitch Chicago to a win despite earning a no-decision. Hamels went seven innings, only allowed one hit, one run and struck out nine. This start was Hamels' third as a Cub, and all three have resulted in one earned run or less. This change of scenery may have given the aging former (current?) ace a second-wind on the season. Given that he holds a 4.22 ERA after this start, he should not be expected to continue at this torrid pace as the year winds down. However, if he were to keep this up, it will be a nice surprise for owners who have held on to him throughout a tumultuous 2018.
