3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin wasn't at his best on Thursday afternoon, but he battled through six innings to earn his ninth win of the season. Irvin had traffic on the bases all day as he surrendered seven hits and four walks, but he limited a good White Sox lineup to just three runs and was picked up by his offense to earn the victory. Irvin only had one strikeout on the day and his K-rate for the season is only 16 percent. That severely limits his fantasy upside and Irvin should only be deployed when he has a good matchup. Luckily for fantasy managers, he's facing the Mariners in Oakland next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
