Cole Irvin Delivers Shortest Start Of Career On Sunday At Toronto
3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin didn't have it on Sunday as he allowed seven earned runs across just 2 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays. Irvin allowed eight hits as he didn't escape the third inning in the shortest start of his career. The 27-year-old lefty got off to a nice start to the season, but he's struggled mightily lately as he's got an 8.14 ERA across his last five starts. If Irvin is not preventing runs then he has little use in fantasy as he won't help with strikeouts; his 15.6% strikeout rate is the second-lowest rate among all qualified starters. Irvin is not a recommended start in fantasy despite a decent matchup with the Rangers next time out.
