4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin fired eight innings of one-run ball to earn his third win of the season Tuesday against Toronto. Irvin allowed only three hits and a walk while fanning nine Blue Jays in the contest. The former Phillie prospect is making a name for himself in his first season in Oakland. He's got a 3.09 ERA supported by a 3.62 SIERA while posting a strong 1.11 WHIP. He's got a nice matchup next time out as he'll face the Rays at home this Sunday. Tampa Bay has the second-highest strikeout rate against lefties this year making Irvin a strong addition for those looking to stream a starter to end the week.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
