3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin allowed five earned runs in just three innings pitched to suffer the loss Monday versus Seattle. Irvin was given a three-run lead in the first inning, but he wasn't sharp in this one, getting knocked out before recording an out in the fourth inning. On the season Irvin has a less-than-stellar 4.18 ERA that should be worse based on his 4.85 xFIP and 4.95 ERA. He doesn't strike anyone out as his 16.2% strikeout rate is the third-lowest among all qualified starters.
