3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin allowed one run in six innings to earn a win over the Rockies on Saturday. Irvin pitched around six hits and a walk, but used five strikeouts to keep Colorado at bay in their hitter-friendly ballpark. Irvin is now 4-7 on the season with a 3.89 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 50 strikeouts across 69 1/3 innings pitched. Fantasy managers need more strikeouts to fully trust Irvin, but he's shown the ability to avoid hard contact and can be started when he has a good matchup. A home start versus Kansas City certainly qualifies to make Irvin a decent streamer when he toes the rubber for that matchup.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
