2 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Cole Irvin took his 11th loss of the season Friday after allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits and two walks to the Seattle Mariners. He struck out two batters. Five of those six runs allowed came off the bat off Seattle third baseman Eugenio Suarez, who took Irvin deep twice. Irvin has now given up five earned runs in consecutive starts, and yet he maintains a solid 3.33 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 22 games started. Being a member of the A's and only having 87 strikeouts in 135 1/3 innings pitched combine to limit his fantasy upside.--Doug Goldring - RotoBaller
