4 years agoTexas Rangers pitching prospect Cole Winn threw six shutout innings on Thursday and did not allow a hit. The young right-hander wasn't perfect with his control and he walked three batters but he also struck out six. The 21-year-old has been difficult to hit all season and he's allowed just nine hits in 21 2/3 innings spread out over four starts. His ERA sits at 2.08 and he has a K-BB rate of 25-7. If Winn can continue this pace, he could see Triple-A this summer and possibly the majors towards the end of the year, which would be great news for a Rangers club that has dealt with pitching injuries and inconsistent performances. He was the club's first-round draft pick back in 2018.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
