Colin Moran Goes Yard on Wednesday
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Colin Moran went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. The 25-year-old got his club on the scoreboard in the second inning of Game 1 with a two-run blast, his second of the season and first since April 2. He added a pinch-hit RBI single in Game 2. Moran had been slumping a bit of late, and perhaps a couple of days off was what he needed to get back on track. Overall, he's off to a nice start with his new team, batting .294/.355/.441 through his first 72 plate appearances. Coming into Wednesday, Moran's 42.0 percent hard-contact rate also ranked fifth among all third basemen.
