Collin Johnson Could Be A Red-Zone Weapon in 2021
3 years agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Collin Johnson, a 6' 6" 222 lb. wide receiver out of the University of Texas, projects as the fourth wide receiver for the team in 2021. In Johnson's rookie season last year he was utilized heavily in the red-zone on the rare occasions he saw the field. Johnson's elite size and jump-ball ability make him a logical target close to the goal-line. The Jaguars' lack of an established tight end on their roster could also play into Johnson's favor this season. Johnson will likely be the fourth wideout on the field in four-receiver sets and could be especially impactful when the team is in the red-zone. Former Jaguars star wideout Jimmy Smith, who has close ties to the organization, is expecting big things from Johnson this season. Speaking on the Matt Lombardo Show recently, Smith said of Johnson, "He's going to be a monster... watch out for this guy." As an unproven player, Johnson still faces an uphill climb, and his performance in front of the new coaching staff in training camp will go a long way to determining his fantasy relevance in 2021. While he’s not a strong fantasy option right now, there’s upside for Johnson.
