4 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Sam Hilliard was sent to the club’s alternate training site prior to Thursday’s contest against the Dodgers in an attempt to get the left-hander as many at-bats as possible. With David Dahl having returned from the IL, Hilliard had fallen out of everyday playing time despite compiling a .488 SLG with six home runs and three stolen bases in 29 games. In brief stints over the past two years, Hilliard has compiled a career .895 OPS with Colorado, which indicates that he’ll likely be back in the mix sooner rather than later, while obviously having short-term and DFS appeal when playing at Coors Field.--Jesse Borek
