Colt McCoy Placed On Injured Reserve
2 years agoThe Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Colt McCoy (calf) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday and promoted Trace McSorley to the active roster from the practice squad in a corresponding move. McCoy will now miss at least the first four games of the regular season after recently suffering a strained calf. With McCoy now out of action for at least the first four games, McSorley will serve as the direct backup to starter Kyler Murray early in the 2022 season. The 27-year-old signal-caller has played in just three games (no starts) in his two seasons in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens, going 3-for-10 for 90 yards and one touchdown. The Cardinals will be in real trouble if Murray is injured early on and McSorley is forced into starting duties.
