Colts Having Second Thoughts On Carson Wentz?
3 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts may be second-guessing their decision to trade for quarterback Carson Wentz last offseason. On the subject of trading for Wentz, general manager Chris Ballard said, "At the time, we felt it was the right decision." Whether or not they keep Wentz for the 2022 season, they'll still be paying him at least $15 million, and it remains to be seen if they can actually find an upgrade. Wentz played pretty well in his first season with the Colts, right up until the end with a disappointing performance in the Week 18 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He wasn't excellent for fantasy managers by any stretch of the imagination, throwing for 3,563 yards and 27 touchdowns, but he had only seven interceptions. Wentz is under contract through 2024, but 2022 is the final year with guaranteed money attached to him. If he's back in Indy, he'll be a midrange QB2 target in the Colts run-first attack.
