Colts Say Jacob Eason Is Competing For Third-String Job
5 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts selected quarterback Jacob Eason in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, but Colts head coach Frank Reich warns that people shouldn't expect too much from Eason out of the gate. Philip Rivers and Jacoby Brissett are currently established as the top two passers in Indianapolis, and Reich says that Eason still has to beat out Chad Kelly if he wants to be the third-string quarterback. It still seems like we should expect Eason to be on this roster and to potentially be the backup to Rivers if Brissett is traded, but Reich's statement is a good reminder that the road to Eason being a fantasy contributor is long and arduous.
