Colts Say Philip Rivers Will Play Multiple Years
5 years agoWhile new Indianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers is only on a one-year deal, head coach Frank Reich says that Rivers will be a Colt for multiple years. That the Colts are planning for Rivers to stick around after 2020 helps explain why they didn't make a move in the draft for a young quarterback until the Jacob Eason selection in the fourth round. Knowing that the team wants to keep Rivers around raises his value a little in dynasty leagues, but he's still a quickly-depreciating value due to his age. We've seen quarterbacks be successful in their late 30s, but Rivers will be 39 this year and learning to work with entirely new weapons after a shortened offseason. Don't be expecting too much.
