Colts Sign Second-Rounder Alec Pierce
3 years agoThe Indianapolis Colts signed second-round wide receiver Alec Pierce to his rookie deal on Monday. Pierce's deal is worth $6.6 million and includes a signing bonus around $2 million. The No. 53 overall pick in the draft out of Cincinnati was mostly used as a deep threat in college, but the 6-foot-3, 213-pounder was showcased in the red zone during rookie minicamp last weekend and could be targeted often in the red area by quarterback Matt Ryan in his first NFL season. The 22-year-old may not get a ton of targets in Indy's run-first offense, but Pierce has an opportunity to battle for a starting job opposite Michael Pittman Jr. right away. He could end up being a nice sleeper in dynasty drafts this fall.
