3 years agoThe Washington Commanders are unlikely to bring back impending restricted free-agent quarterback Kyle Allen. Taylor Heinicke, the team's primary starter in 2021 after Ryan Fitzpatrick got injured early in the year, is the only QB under contract for 2022. Heinicke's roster spot appears to be safe, but the team is seeking an upgrade at the position and unlike last year, head coach Ron Rivera has not emphasized a starting competition. Even if Washington gives up their first-round pick in this year's draft to acquire a veteran starting quarterback to be their starter, there's a good chance they'll look to add a rookie signal-caller in the draft. After making four starts in 2020, Allen played in parts of just two games last year and went 12-for-19 for 120 yards with one touchdown.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
