Control Eludes Robbie Ray In Road Setback
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray allowed just two earned runs and two hits across 5 1/3 innings in Wednesday's 4-1 road loss against the San Diego Padres. However, he also walked five batters while throwing just 50 of his 89 pitches for strikes, and he managed first-pitch strikes to only nine of the 22 batters he faced while also uncorking a wild pitch. He'll look to bounce back in his next scheduled start Wednesday night at home against Edinson Volquez and the Texas Rangers.
