Cooper Criswell To Make Major League Debut Friday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Cooper Criswell will make his major league debut on Friday night as he gets the start against the Padres. A 13th round pick in the 2018 Draft, Criswell has split time between Double-A and Triple-A this season, where he has gone 8-5 with a 3.77 ERA, 1.103 WHIP and 29.9 percent strikeout rate over 90 2/3 innings of work. The Padres have been slumping at the plate recently, slashing .182/.267/.323 with a 21.7 percent strikeout rate over their last 14 games, while averaging 3.0 runs per game in that span. This could be a nice matchup for Criswell, and managers may want to consider utilizing him as a streamer or DFS option.
