3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes allowed three runs on four hits across five innings pitched in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Opening Day. All of the damage against Burnes came off the bat of light-hitting shortstop Nico Hoerner, who launched a line-drive three-run homer to give Chicago the lead. Aside from the homer, Burnes wasn't sharp in this one as he allowed three walks against only four strikeouts; an uncharacteristically wild afternoon for the right-hander. Last season, Burnes posted 6.9 strikeouts to every walk issued and his 35.6% K-rate was among the best in baseball. Fantasy managers have no reason to be alarmed by this performance and Burnes remains a must-start option in a good matchup at Baltimore next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
