Corbin Burnes Dominates Over Eight Innings For Another Win
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes pitched eight no-hit innings and struck out 14 while walking just one to earn the win Saturday versus Cleveland. This marked the third time in 25 starts Burnes has gone at least eight innings while piling up double-digit strikeouts. His only mistake Saturday was a walk to Myles Straw. Josh Hader was able to keep the combined no-hitter intact with a perfect ninth inning for the save. Burnes is having a remarkable year with a 2.25 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 210:29 K: BB across 152 innings overall. "He's having a season that's bigger than just Brewer records," Counsell said. "He's having a season that's historical in Major League Baseball."
He lines up for a home start versus the Cubs next weekend.
