Corbin Burnes Fires Six Shutout Innings In Victory Over Giants
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes (9-4) allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out nine across six innings, earning the win over the Giants on Monday. Burnes fired six stellar shutout innings before allowing a leadoff double in the seventh inning. Brad Boxberger relieved him and the runner that Burnes was responsible for scoring. This was his fourth quality start in his last five outings and he has not taken a loss since May 25th. The 26-year-old has a 2.27 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 139 innings this season and leads all of baseball with a 12.2 K/9 and 7.3 K/BB.
