4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes threw two shutout innings with five strikeouts and one walk in a Cactus League game versus the Rockies. Burnes was one of baseball's breakout hurlers last year posting a 2.11 ERA with 88 strikeouts in only 59 2/3 innings. Burnes' improvements are supported by a pitch-mix adjustment as he scrapped his ineffective four-seamer in favor of a sinker/cutter combo that baffled hitters all season. The result was a 96th percentile strikeout rate and a 91st percentile wOBA allowed. With an average draft position just inside the top-60, Burnes offers elite upside as an SP2 on draft day.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
