4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes was placed on the injured list with a non-designated injury on Thursday, the Brewers announced on Twitter. There is no official word on the cause of this, but the unofficial speculation due to the lack of an injury designation is that Burnes landing on the IL is somehow COVID-19 related, whether it's due to testing positive, side effects from the vaccine or because of contact tracing protocols. It's unclear at this point how short or long a stay this might be for Burnes, who is 2-2 with a 1.53 ERA and 45.4 percent strikeout rate in 29 1/3 innings of work to start the year.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
