3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Corbin Burnes was announced as the winner of the National League Cy Young Award on Wednesday. He received 12 first-place votes, the same as Zack Wheeler, who finished second. However, Burnes got five more second-place votes than Wheeler, which helped the Milwaukee starter finish with more overall points in the voting. Burnes pitched to a 2.43 ERA and a 1.63 FIP in 167 innings. The 27-year-old also registered 234 strikeouts to go along with 34 walks. What's more, Burnes led all qualified starters in the National League in ERA and FIP. He ranked third, behind Scherzer and Wheeler, in strikeouts.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
