4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Corbin Martin was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, the team announced on Twitter. The No. 7 overall prospect in Arizona's system according to MLB Pipeline, Martin is joining the Diamondbacks to take over the roster spot vacated by Luke Weaver, who was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a right shoulder strain. Martin has been a strikeout machine throughout his career with a 27.8 percent strikeout rate over four seasons in the minors, and in 9 2/3 innings of work at Triple-A this year he has already recorded 14 punch outs.
