Corbin Martin Sustains Oblique Strain, Likely Done For 2020
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks right-handed pitcher Corbin Martin has been diagnosed with a strained oblique, which will require him to be shut down for a few weeks before he can be reevaluated. Ranked as Arizona’s No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, Martin was viewed as a potential callup at some point in 2020, but those odds are likely out the window due to the nature of the ailment. Martin made five starts last season with Houston before being dealt in the Zack Greinke deal, and while he allowed eight home runs across just 19 ⅓ frames, his fastball averaged 95.2 MPH and produced an above-average spin rate, making him an intriguing keepers league asset.
