Corey Dickerson Nearing Deal With Cardinals
3 years agoFree-agent outfielder Corey Dickerson is nearing an agreement with the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, according to a source. Dickerson split the 2021 season with the Miami Marlins and Toronto Blue Jays and finished with a .271/.326/.408 slash line, six home runs, 29 RBI and six stolen bases in 365 total plate appearances spread across 109 games. Dickerson was an All-Star back in 2017 with the Tampa Bay Rays, but he's become more of a platoon bat against right-handed pitchers with very modest power as he enters his age-33 season in 2022. Dickerson figures to see most of his at-bats as the designated hitter for St. Louis while also occasionally seeing time in a corner outfield spot.
