4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber didn't have his sharpest stuff but still earned his third victory of the season in a 5-4 defeat of the Orioles. Kluber allowed four runs on six hits in seven innings of work, striking out six batters with a pair of walks. The veteran right-hander had surrendered only one run until the fifth inning, where he yielded three runs on four hits. Kluber did fan six batters, the third time he's hit that mark in his last three outings, and he allowed a lot of weak contact, as evidenced by his 84.4 MPH average exit velocity against. After an 0-2 start, Kluber has three wins and will get a favorable matchup on May 19 against the Rangers. They've posted the fifth-worst strikeout rate in the majors.--Tim Capurso
