Corey Kluber Pitches No-Hitter
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber hurled a no-hitter in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Texas Rangers. Kluber fanned nine batters in his nine innings of work and was just one walk away from a perfect game. It's the sixth no-hitter of the season in the MLB and the 12th in Yankees history- the first since David Cone's perfect game in 1999. Kluber generated 13 swinging strikes, seven of them on his curveball, which had some excellent break on it- and it actually had an increased spin rate from his season average on Wednesday night. Kluber has now won three of his last four outings- and his season ERA is sitting at 2.86 following his dominant outing against the Rangers. He checks in at 60 in RotoBaller's latest SP ranks, and he could even sneak into the top-50 if he keeps pitching the way he has in May.
