4 years agoTexas Rangers right-handed pitcher Corey Kluber is not likely to have his $18 million team option picked up for the 2021 season, per general manager Jon Daniels. While it’s possible that Kluber could return on a lesser contract, Daniels’ approach to free agency indicates that the club will not go out of it’s way to bring in veteran talent. If Kluber’s tenure with Texas is over, it lasted all of one inning after he sustained a teres muscle tear. A two-time Cy Young Award winner that will play next season at 35 years old, Kluber should garner considerable free-agent intrigue should the Rangers follow through and buyout his contract.--Jesse Borek
