3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Corey Kluber (shoulder) is unlikely to be activated before September, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. Hoch reports that general manager Brian Cashman said the team does not expect him to return until August or September, with Hoch adding that September seemed a more likely timeframe for his return. Kluber had recently extended his throwing distance from 60 to 75 feet, but it's clear he's still a long ways away from rejoining the Yankees. He's been out since the end of May with a shoulder strain, but before the injury he had been looking sharp on the mound, going 4-3 with a 3.04 ERA, 1.200 WHIP and a 25 percent strikeout rate over 53 1/3 innings of work. If you have a free IL slot, Kluber is a guy that could be worth stashing to provide a late-season boost.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
