Corey Seager Makes It Through First Defensive Action
6 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow, hip) was able to play in the field for three innings on Thursday in a minor-league game for the first time this spring. It was his first defensive action since undergoing reconstructive elbow surgery, and a subsequent hip operation, since last April. "It's nice to move around. It's been a long time," Seager said. He had a chance on a slow roller at one point, but the throw was late over to first. He is ramping up his activity, and might be ready for Opening Day. It's possible he sees some frequent rests as the team eases him into action. He could be quite a steal for those still drafting, as he has .300 average, 20-25 homer and 70-80 RBI ability which fantasy owners obviously love.
