7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager (elbow) played at shortstop for the first time all spring in the team's "B" game against minor leaguers on Monday. He played the position for five innings and handled two routine grounders in the second without incident. He's been on a reduced throwing program to relieve any stress on his throwing elbow, which has bothered him since August. He didn't need surgery in the offseason and now has two weeks to get up to game speed. He claims that the clubhouse virus a few weeks ago delayed his timetable, and fantasy owners would love to see him return to the form that won him Rookie of the Year honors two seasons ago. If he's somehow not ready, Chris Taylor would step in as the backup shortstop.
