3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants acquired right-hander Cory Abbott from the Chicago Cubs on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations, according to sources. The Cubs had designated Abbott for assignment on Saturday, but he will now continue his career with San Francisco. The 26-year-old will likely start his Giants career with Triple-A Sacramento after allowing three runs and four hits while walking two and striking out six in six innings over two starts for Triple-A Iowa to begin his 2022 campaign. Abbott made his big-league debut last year with the Cubs, posting a 6.75 ERA and 1.79 WHIP with 11 walks and 12 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings pitched over seven outings (one start).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
