Cowboys Focused On Winning, Not Dak Prescott's Contract
5 years agoDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has still not signed the franchise tender, as he and the team are still in talks regarding a long-term contract. Despite Prescott being unsigned, owner Jerry Jones said in an interview that the team is focused on adding talent to surround the QB, who he is confident will be part of a bright future in Dallas. Prescott shattered his previous career-highs last season, throwing for 4,902 yards and 30 touchdowns and the team placed the franchise tag on Prescott, which would pay him roughly $31 million this season despite contract extension talks that date back to last offseason. With former Bengals starter Andy Dalton now signed as a backup, it does not appear a long-term deal is imminent, which could get interesting if Prescott remains unsigned into the summer.
