4 years agoChicago Cubs closer Craig Kimbrel struck out the side in his first appearance of the season on Saturday versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Cubs had a 5-1 lead when Kimbrel entered the game, so it wasn't a save opportunity. Despite that, Kimbrel looked excellent working a 1-2-3 inning with three K's. Kimbrel has struggled during his tenure with the Cubs, but Saturday's performance has to be a confidence booster for both him and managers that drafted the former All-Star.
